Great storyline.

At first didn't like writing style but then got used to it and the story came alive. It was a full romance. There were a few typos but still pretty good. I was curious about what happens next between Jake and Mia but not enough to read next in series.

Sophomoric romance

Hmmm...what can I say? It started off ok. Drew & Tilly met when Drew crashed into her while catching a ball on the beach. Last time I walked on the beach, I didn't meet a rich guy. Anyway, he insists on taking her home to make sure she's ok and all the while she's protesting and being cold to him. I'm assuming this is due to the fact that she had a disastrous previous relationship where her ex was controlling and cheated on her. Anyway, they meet up again courtesy of Tilly's bff Mia at a party. Of course Drew continues pursuing Tilly and sure enough this time she succumbs and they have wild crazy sex. They are HOT for each other and can't get enough.
Ok...this is where things start turning. Drew who is supposed to be head of a successful company carries on and talks like a sailor with the F-bomb dropping everywhere - whether having sex or running his business. He's revealed to be a bit of a snob (dealing with his driver Tomson) and a hot-head when things don't go right for him. He would fall apart at the drop of a hat and at one point I seriously thought he had an anger issue. I wasn't sure how old he was but he came across like he was a teenager and not a sophisticated adult at times. Tilly, for all her initial avoidance of Drew, embraced sex with Drew to the max. I know she works but for all the time she was dabbling with Drew it didn't seem like she had the time.
Anyway, when confronted with her ex (Simon), Tilly completely becomes like a mouse crying all over the place. She appeared so weak-willed while Drew became overly macho in protecting her. I guess this must have been her demeanor when she was with Simon and I can't fathom how she was able to get away from Simon's grips considering she seemed so meek with her ex. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed the book but I sort of shook my head at times with the sophomoric writing spread throughout the book.

Just didn't click

This book could have been good with editing and some rewriting. The H and h just didn't come to mean anything to me and I never did get a sense of their personalities. The writing was first person from various view points of the characters, but the story line was hard to follow as it took a few sentences to figure out who was doing to telling. Sometimes third person showed up in a first person pov which really threw me off. Part of my problem was the constant use of the F-bomb which grew tiresome after a while. Surely during sex there are other things you can scream out at the top of your lungs? Does the F-bomb have to be repeated over and over? I'm not prude, but I do tend to get bored when reading the same thing again and again. And the storyline of reluctant-relationship-shy H rescuing h from obsessed former fiance is an old one. The story just didn't gel, but I can see talent in the author so I'm not giving up completely.
